Simple melody

Category: Song parts
29Jun

This arpeggio melody is quiet simple, but in the right arrangement, it could be used to drive an uplifting song.

Slow (1/8th) Arpeggio

Category: Song parts
28Jun

This melody was made long time ago, using a JP8000. I’ve tried many times to make a song out of it, but I never found a good arrangement. Due to the fact that I don’t have the JP8000 anymore I’ve made a VSTi based version:

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 6 or above) is required to play this audio clip. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.» Download MP3

I’ve already made a lot of variations, but I only found this one to demonstrate:

Here is the midifile of the original melody and here the midifile of the variation.

Arpeggio June 2008

Category: Song parts
17Jun

The following arpeggio was made this month, so it is the newest thing that I made. As most of my unfinished song stuff, this part has no name, and for me the easiest way to manage unfinished stuff, is to give it the name of month in which it was created. That’s better than having project files with “untitledXYZ” as filename :)

And like in the previous posts, here is the midi file. Use it when you like it, and leave a comment when you’ve finished something.

Hands up

Category: Song parts
16Jun

This song idea was my attempt to make stupid German “hands up” trance. For those who don’t know what this is: damn, you’re lucky. I don’t like that style anymore, but 3 years ago when I made it, that kind of style was IN, and you could hear it in any club in Germany. So here is the original “draft” that I made 3 years ago:

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 6 or above) is required to play this audio clip. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.» Download MP3

And here is a version that I made yesterday:

If you like it, use it… here is the midi file of the melody

Thanks to tektook from the SynthMaker board, for converting my old Cubase project file into a midi.

Scared

16Jun

This is my last finished song, it is weird mix of “old german hands up” and dutch uplifting trance. I’m not happy with the result, because I finished it in a hurry.

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 6 or above) is required to play this audio clip. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.» Download MP3

The vocals are from a friend who made them for one of his song called “scared”. At this time his artist name was PrivatePanic. He gave me the permissions to use them in my own production.

If you think you can do it better, here is your chance:

First plugin: LoopDrive3

15Jun

Here is the first plugin in this blog. I’ve made it long time ago, and as image-line asked me to update it, so they can include it in their new FruityLoops Studio8, I did it.

To give users a chance to play with it without having to buy FL-Studio, I decided to publish it here.

What it is: It’s a Loop slicer and rearranger with some weird FX. So you load in a drum loop wave, set the tempo, and LoopDrive slices it into beats. Now you can use the build-in sequencer grid to rearrange the beats. There is also a “reverse sequencer” which enables you to play selected beats backwards. After rearranging the loop you can apply a filter, bit crusher, distortion, overdrive and even a grain FX. There’s also the possibility to set the FX order, which gives you more control over the FX.

There are also some other things that I haven’t mentioned here, so try it yourself.

The LoopDrive3 VST-Plugin can be found here.

And if want to play with its source, here is the SynthMaker schematic.

Have fun!
